Health & Safety/Project Supervisor Design Process
The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013 define responsibilities for Homeowners / Contractors and Project Supervisors in relation to construction works and stipulate the nomination of a Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) and a Project Supervisor Construction Process (PSCP).Typically the Engineer or Architect is appointed as Project Supervisor Design Process with the Contractor appointed as the Project Supervisor Construction Stage. Kieran J Barry & Associates Ltd can act as Project Supervisor Design Process and engage with the Health & Safety Authority and co-ordinate the work of all designers in relation to your project.
As the PSDP our responsibilities would include the following:
Identify potential safety issues arising from the design or from project management aspects of the project
- Reduce risks and eliminate hazards where possible
- Document and communicate necessary control measures or outstanding risks to the PSCS
- Coordinate work of all designers on the project
- Produce A Safety and Health plan (for projects with significant risks or those over 30 working days or 500 person days in duration)
- Prepare a Safety File to be delivered to the client on completion of works.
